Odorless, with a salty astringent taste. Weathering in dry air. Easily oxidized to brownish-yellow alkaline iron sulfate in humid air. 10% aqueous solution is acidic to litmus (Ph value about 3.7). Heating to 70 ~ 73 ° C to lose 3 molecules of water, to 80 ° C to 123 ° C to lose 6 molecules of water, to 156 ° C or more into alkaline iron sulfate. Easily soluble in water (1g/1.5ml, 25℃ or 1g/0.5ml boiling water), insoluble in ethanol. Mainly used in pesticides, pigments, medicine, etc., in addition to chromatographic analysis reagents and so on.
